ROUTE AND PROGRAM
15 – 22 JUNE 2025 | DENMARK · SWEDEN · NORWAY
DAWN OF THE ADVENTURE
In the head of Denmark, the adventure starts on Sunday the 15th of June. Far away from big cities you find the location of our first bivouac, called Ténéré Town.
After your arrival you can pitch your tent and get into the travel mood immediately. 150 Ténéré riders will arrive throughout the day. Get to know the other riders in a relaxed atmosphere and share your passion for motorcycle adventures.
BUILD UP YOUR SKILLS
You will be challenged and inspired by the instructors of Yamaha Motor on a large off road playground consisting of countless tracks and trails. Today will be a mix of masterclasses, clinics, workshops and ride outs to ultimately prepare for the journey ahead.
The lunch together is a welcome break to let the morning program sink in and charge up for the rest of the day’s program. There will be several off road courses for different skill levels and ride outs to put into practice the skills you just sharpened and learned. You can test your navigation setup and you will have the opportunity to get some final advice before the real adventure starts.
HOIST THE SAILS
Aboard the ferry from Frederikshavn to Gothenburg, you will enjoy a sumptuous breakfast while on the horizon the next country of the trip comes into view. As soon as you leave the imposing ship, your tires touch Swedish soil.
Soon you trade the city bustle for unspoiled nature, where endless forests surround you. Here, in the middle of the Scandinavian wilderness, you leave the hectic pace of the world behind and the feeling of freedom bubbles up. With so much breathtaking nature all around you, it’s hard to choose where to lower your kickstand to take a break from the propelling adventure.
The stage ends at a typical Swedish bivouac, beautifully situated on one of the many serene lakes. It’s the perfect place to relax and share the day’s experiences.
Expect in Scandinavia mainly beginner level gravel roads.
EXPEDITION NORTH
As you keep the compass rose pointed north, you wander deeper and deeper through the Swedish forests. The paths wind endlessly around the lakes in the hilly landscape. In the midst of the vast countryside, you wouldn’t realize you were crossing the border into Norway without a navigation system.
The landscape in Norway gets rougher after every bend. Via authentic wooden bridges you cross wildly churning rivers that have carved out impressive rock formations. The dense forests give way to open plains with beautiful vistas, where you get a taste of what you are about to discover. Norway is at your motorcycle boots, waiting for you to expose her rugged side to you.
Expect in Scandinavia mainly beginner level gravel roads.
THE DOMAIN OF THE MOOSE
Today’s route takes you across the high plains behind the mountains looming in the distance. Narrow trails wind your way up through the forests, where moose may unexpectedly cross your path. Once you leave the forested slopes behind, a barren, rugged plain unfolds. It feels like you are the first explorer in this remote area. Here the vistas stretch to the horizon, unless the notoriously harsh weather of the high plains limits your view and challenges you to fight against the elements.
Whatever you endured on the high plains, a warm welcome awaits you in the valley. Upon arrival at the bivouac, the crew will be waiting and you will be welcomed with cold drinks at the bar in Ténéré Town – a well-deserved reward after a day of adventure.
Expect in Scandinavia mainly beginner level gravel roads.
GIANTS AND TROLLS
In the luxurious winter resort of Beitostølen, it is hard to imagine that through the surrounding mountains nomads still travel with large herds of reindeer along the ancient trade roads where we leave our tire tracks today. The historic settlements along the lakes, with traditional Norwegian huts and old farms, recall a time when life was much more challenging in these remote areas.
Further north, you’ll see Jotunheimen National Park, home to the highest mountains in Scandinavia. The name comes from Norse mythology and means “House of Giants. Could it be that trolls hide here, too?
Expect in Scandinavia mainly beginner level gravel roads.
MIDSUMMER
Every turn of the route today reveals a new panorama. Narrow tunnels, carved from the rugged rock, lead you along unpaved mountain roads past deep canyons, sparkling rivers and crystal-clear lakes. Occasionally look up from the slopes and enjoy the mesmerizing views of the snow-capped peaks that surround you. The fresh mountain air tickles your senses and the wind whistles around your helmet as the adventure rushes forward.
The descent into the fjords takes you to a landscape that was once the starting point for the Vikings. Between the sheer cliffs, they loaded their ships and set sail with determination to explore the world. This iconic setting is the ultimate place to complete the Ténéré Travel Trophy. Once you enter the final bivouac, you’ve made it. You are a Ténéré Travel Trophy finisher! Celebrate this impressive achievement with champagne, live music and a tasty feast from Norwegian cuisine. And all on the longest day of the year, the magical midsummer night.
Expect in Scandinavia mainly beginner level gravel roads.
BAGS FULL OF MEMORIES
The adventure is over, but the memories remain forever! One last time you have breakfast with the other participants of the Ténéré Travel Trophy 2025, looking back on an unforgettable week.
Paths will split here. What will be next for you? Will you continue your journey towards the Lofoten, or even the North Cape? Or will you explore southern Norway? It’s all up to you.
Would you rather go straight home? With the luxury of the Dealer Package, you will board a comfortable airplane back to Amsterdam in the Netherlands while your motorcycle is being transported back to your local Yamaha dealer.
*Note: The distance on the route map is based on a return trip with a crossing from Oslo (Norway) to Kiel (Germany). Without this crossing, the distance is longer.

Bikers and motorcycle fans know that motorcycles are incredible machines. They bring people together and they’re fun to ride. In certain parts of Africa, there is another important reason why motorcycles are being used. They are the only vehicle that can deliver health care and medication to some of the most remote communities in Africa. Two Wheels for Life supports many programs that ensure health workers are able to reach these communities.
