ROUTE AND PROGRAM
13 – 20 JUNE 2026
SLOVENIA · CROATIA · BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA · MONTENEGRO
A NEW ADVENTURE
Amid the green hills of Slovenia, not far from Ljubljana, lies the first bivouac of the Travel Trophy 2026. On Saturday, June 13, you will immediately feel the spirit of the journey as you set up your tent in Ténéré Town.
One hundred and fifty Ténéré riders gather here today for the start of an adventurous motorcycle journey through the Balkans. Take the time to get to know each other and share your passion for riding and exploring in a relaxed atmosphere.

WARMING UP
This day offers a mix of masterclasses, clinics, and workshops designed to prepare you for the adventure ahead. The Yamaha Motor instructors will challenge and inspire you on a vast off-road terrain filled with winding tracks and hills. Off-road courses are available for various skill levels.
Lunch provides the perfect moment to reflect on the morning and recharge for the rest of the program. During the afternoon ride-outs, you can immediately put your refined skills into practice. It is also the ideal time to test your navigation setup and ask for advice before the real journey begins.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Ready, set, go! You have barely left the bivouac when you dive straight into dense forests. A sea of green stretches out before you, and it feels as if the civilized world is far away. You and your Ténéré move as one, finding your rhythm on winding forest roads. Curve after curve disappears in your mirrors, along with the rush of daily life. Your gaze is fixed on the south, gravel crunches beneath your tires, and a grin settles inside your helmet that will not fade. The journey has begun.
The Kupa River forms the natural border between Slovenia and Croatia. Where border posts once stood, you now cross a wooden bridge without lifting your boots from the pegs and roll effortlessly into a new country.
At the end of the stage, Ténéré Town awaits you with cold drinks and local specialties.
Off-road experience is recommended for the unpaved sections.

HOWDY!
The day begins with a touch of mystery. Near the border, you visit the abandoned Željava Air Base, a surreal setting where fighter jets were once hidden deep inside the mountain. Ever ridden your motorcycle across a runway? Today is your chance.
“Dobrodošli!” Welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the customs officer stamps your passport, a new country awaits to be explored.
The landscape changes instantly. Dense forests give way to open plains, rivers, and waterfalls. The route takes you past Štrbački Buk, one of the most impressive waterfalls in the country, and a perfect spot to pause the ongoing adventure for a moment.
Higher in the mountains, herds of wild horses roam freely across the open terrain. It feels like riding through a western movie, and it is sure to bring out the cowboy or cowgirl in you.
Off-road experience is recommended for the unpaved sections.

BACK IN TIME
The stage begins beautifully, winding its way through forests and open plains before reaching a plateau surrounded by untouched nature. From the edge, you overlook Lake Ramsko, a labyrinth of islands and peninsulas that looks like a painting come to life.
As you take in the beauty of the landscape, it is easy to forget what happened here in the former Yugoslavia. Warning signs for minefields remind you not to stray from the route. It is hard to grasp that this peaceful place was once torn apart by war.
High in the mountains, far from the inhabited world, the route crosses empty plains. In the distance appears Lukomir, the highest village in Bosnia. Stone houses, the smell of woodfire, and local craftsmanship make it feel as though time has stood still.
Off-road experience is recommended for the unpaved sections.

THE PEARL OF THE BALKANS
After only a few hundred meters, you cross into the final destination of this journey. Montenegro immediately captivates with its unspoiled nature and breathtaking views. It will not take long before you fall for the pearl of the Balkans.
The route leads through dozens of short tunnels carved into the rock, each framing a new view of the turquoise Piva Canyon. You follow the water while the cliffs rise sharply beside you. Every tunnel exit reveals a new perspective.
Not long after, you reach Durmitor National Park, where the scenery transforms once again. Vast mountain meadows, rugged peaks, and winding roads create a landscape that feels almost otherworldly.
High in the mountains, among the ski slopes, lies tonight’s bivouac. As the sun sets behind the peaks, the campfire slowly comes to life.
Off-road experience is recommended for the unpaved sections.

THE BAY OF KOTOR
The morning greets you once more with the crisp mountain air of Montenegro. The route winds along narrow ridges near the Albanian border. The scent of pine trees mingles with the dust of unpaved tracks. Each turn reveals a new panorama, wilder and wider than the one before.
Gradually, the landscape softens. Sharp peaks give way to gentle hills. Olive groves line the road, and white houses with red roofs announce the Adriatic Sea.
The serpentine road with twenty-six hairpin bends leads you down to the Bay of Kotor. The water glistens in the distance, palm trees sway gently, and ancient city walls rise against the mountains. It is an idyllic place to end your journey.
The moment to celebrate has arrived. You made it. You are a Travel Trophy finisher. Tonight, glasses are raised as you enjoy a festive evening by the coast at an exclusive location. It is a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable adventure.
Off-road experience is recommended for the unpaved sections.

BAGS FULL OF MEMORIES
Once more you gather for breakfast in Ténéré Town, surrounded by faces that felt unfamiliar a week ago and now seem like old friends.
Hands are shaken and helmets fastened. One by one the riders leave the bivouac, some heading home, others continuing their journey. The tracks in the sand will fade, but the memories remain, along with the friendships born along the way.
The Travel Trophy 2026 ends here, yet your adventure continues.

Bikers and motorcycle fans know that motorcycles are incredible machines. They bring people together and they’re fun to ride. In certain parts of Africa, there is another important reason why motorcycles are being used. They are the only vehicle that can deliver health care and medication to some of the most remote communities in Africa. Two Wheels for Life supports many programs that ensure health workers are able to reach these communities.
